I started painting again after a break of 25 years, during which time I worked as A Graphic Designer and Illustrator. Living on the coast for many years has had a strong influence on my paintings, which usually feature sea, rocks and related images. I’ve experimented with different styles over the years and have recently been working on large, semi-abstract acrylic paintings.
I develop them in a freeway, never knowing quite how they will turn out. I rely on memory, imagination, and scenes from nature to inspire me, whilst listening to anything from the Beatles to Vaughan Williams.
I use a limited palette and heightened colours to create the painting.
I now have a range of prints and cards which I sell in shops and galleries and have recently exhibited at North Somerset Arts Week, Clevedon Art Club, and The Grant Bradley Gallery in Bristol. I also produce work to commission.
